Testim stock issues east london
« on: August 08, 2017, 03:54:27 PM »
After a 2 month wait for my consultant to message my gp to prescribe me testim I find out that everywhere local to me is out of stock until the end of the month, I've tried 14 different places to no avail, is there anywhere else I can try?

Cheers guys

Nick

Is there Any way you can order online? Obviously you have the prescription in your hand so you should be able to somehow.

Was looking at boots, there stock comes in on the 22nd. I did look at pharmacy 2 yesterday but wasn't sure how reliable they are. My T is at 6 and feel like not very good at the mo and hcg run out 2 weeks ago.

If the GP prescribed generic Testosterone Gel 50mg / 5g then the pharmacist should be able to dispense Testim or Testogel.

I have a prescription written like that and only once has a pharmacist refused to issue the brand of my choice.  When I started out TRT years ago I preferred Testim but over the years I have come to prefer Testogel as it isn't as sticky and has no smell.

Hi Nick,

This is the very reason I switched away from Testim ten years ago.

In terms of distribution Testim certainly was and presumably still is available in a small percentage of pharmacies countrywide. Many I tried couldn't get it.

It's a shame really because I found it to act better than Testogel in terms of alertness and sharpness of thought. It was sticky as hell thiough and that didn't help. I used to use a roll-on deoderant over it as it became sticky to avoid having my clothes stuck to me all day at work.

The initial distributors did form a partnership with me back then and invited me to speak at a conference.
Lets just say I could have been more measured in my delivery to doctors and nurses, especially after they'd been told that 12 nmol/l was fine for any male just previously by an alleged expert.:)

Distribution has changed hands since and it may be that they too are regretting their association with Testim. Time will tell I guess.

Cheers,

Nick

looks like nothing has changed on the supply front,  boots returned my prescription and there still seems to be no sign of when it's going to be in stock again  :'( it's been over two months now off any treatment and I feel f**ked. I've asked my GP to try me on tostran but it's like hitting my head againts a brick wall. I still have half a box of testogel but having wasted 6 months applying it and feeling no better or levels changed I'm not rubbing that on again. I don't wanna look at getting anything dodgy but don't know how long this is going to last  :'(

If you have a prescription that can't be filled with one product it is standard to offer an alternative if one exists. In our case, we not only have Tostran, but Testogel as well.

Only the name, concentration and a few chemicals are changed to deliver exactly the same medication.

The solution could lie in either direction so far as I am concerned.

Either the pharmacy ought to have offered Testogel, which has the same concentration, so they need to be talked to.

Or the doctor simply prescribes 1% Testosterone gel without specifying who makes it.

Whichever you feel would be the easier route to take.

Tostran is of course a 2% gel and your GP sounds uneducated.

I hope this helps,

Cheers,

Nick
