Is anyone else having problems getting Testim or Testogel. My pharmacy can't obtain either.

My pharmacy says Testim in tubes and Testogel sachets are no longer being manufactured any more. I had been using Testim for years as I'm allergic to the Testogel base. Unfortunately i had to get a new prescription for Testogel in a pump action dispenser. The problem with this option is that apart from being Testogel the dose is 20mg a day lower as I've been prescribed 4 pumps a day at 20mg a dose. My GP is less than helpful initially saying that he would not issue a new prescription for my only alternative option. Thankfully he gave in but only after I told him i had an appointment with my specialist at the hospital in 7 weeks..

I have been unable to get Testogel since late November, struggling along on Testim (pump action bottle) I have been suffering from the start from considerable skin iirritation, currently my local pharmacists advise still cannot get Testogel (50mg) sachets which is what I have used up to now.

My GP's Pharmacist in late November did not help matters when I was trying to obtain an alternative testosterone  prescription when she contacted the manufacterers direct and was told by them supplies were in the UK. It took two or weeks to convice her that supplies of Testogel sachets were not available.

I have spoken to my pharmacy again today and she is adamant that both Testim in 50mg tubes my preferred medication and Testogel in 50mg sachets are definitely discontinued. I have asked in other chemists and they are having the same problem.

The problem with the pump action Testogel apart from me being allergic to the base the dose ive been given is 20mg a day less. I was on a100mg a day and 4 pumps of Testogel is 80mg.

To correct my earlier post I have been and still are struggling along on Tostran from a pump action bottle.

I claim temporary insanity through lack of Testogel as the reason for my use of the wrong medicine description. I had been looking up Testim to see what this was like given my problems with Tostran it appears the name stuck in my memory.

At my appointment with the endocrinologist late last week it was agreed I would try going from 1 sachet per day to 2 per day, a somewhat academic treatment plan until Testogel supplies return, he reckoned that supplies were becoming available.

Until a week ago my local pharmacist advised no Testogel sachets with their suppliers. As the patient in the NHS system this business is very frustrating, manufacturers have been claiming for weeks that supplies are available, clearly they have not been so what is the truth? :-\
