Mission Statement
Background
The current emphasis on aging men has led to the creation of the term “Andropause”. However, there is sufficient evidence to suggest hormones are under attack from conception to the grave. A disease with a 1:200 birth rate, Hypogonadism is seen in over 30% of all sixty year old men.
UK expert Professor Hackett also considers the concept of the Andropause a myth, preferring instead to suggest a progressive deterioration of the endocrine function due to external influences.
Increasing numbers of Genetic disorders, environmental chemicals, prescribed drugs and social activities appear to corrupt Testosterone production, with a wide ranging knock on effect that is not fully understood.
As disease takes effect in the body, so Testosterone production appears affected. In some cases the question is being asked, “Which came first Hypogonadism, or the disease?”
Testosterone replacement drugs are widely abused anabolic steroids, and have long been easy to obtain illegally. For those who need supplements, this historical abuse is a problem, as doctors are reluctant to test, diagnose and prescribe.
Hypogonadal babies, youngsters and adults are left untested and untreated, to their certain detriment, as their minds and bodies progressively weaken, from the depletion of a primary hormone.
Many hypogonadal people also have a chronic problem, such as Diabetes, Cancer, AIDS, or Spinal Cord Injury. These are diseases and injuries in the young, as well as the aging. Yet now, their recoveries appear hindered because of Hypogonadism.
Research suggests quality of life tends to be dramatically improved in TRT treated chronic patients, with attendant reduction in the cost of caring.

Mission Statement
Doctors thought Testosterone deficiency easily managed by the patient and should not be treated. This myth is exploded by the AACE guidelines and the many references to be found in online medical libraries.
Clumsy testing and dosing options have caused a historical and habitual reluctance to test for Hypogonadism. New sensitive testing procedures, recent research and Transdermal gels enable a sensible policy change.
Gels are widely available in North America and were released into the UK in the summer of 2003.
Unfortunately a crisis is upon us, as the American Association of Endocrinologists (AACE) highlight in their Hypogonadism Taskforce 2002 update. They appealed to doctors and clinicians to make themselves aware.
